We prove that every cubic graph contains four total dominating sets, each vertex of which is covered at most twice. This resolves a 2018 conjecture by Goddard and Henning and extends to transversals of $3$-uniform $3$-regular hypergraphs. The result establishes a fundamental structural property of cubic graphs concerning total domination.
Cubic graphs always admit four total dominating sets where each vertex is covered at most twice, settling a long-standing conjecture.
In 2018, Goddard and Henning conjectured that every cubic graph has four total dominating sets covering each vertex at most twice, and asked the analogous question for transversals of $3$-uniform $3$-regular hypergraphs. We prove the conjecture, which also answers the question in the affirmative.
