We construct complex structures on the six-sphere $S^6$ exhibiting arbitrarily large local Kuranishi dimensions, a property previously thought to be bounded. This construction is achieved by leveraging specific geometric properties of $S^6$ and its relationship to other manifolds. Consequently, the smooth manifold underlying complex projective 3-space $\mathbb{P}^3$ also admits complex structures with this unbounded local Kuranishi dimension.
Complex structures on $S^6$ can have arbitrarily large local Kuranishi dimensions, challenging prior geometric assumptions.
We construct complex structures on the six-sphere $S^6$ with arbitrarily large local Kuranishi dimension. As a corollary, we find the same phenomenon holds for the smooth manifold underlying complex projective 3-space $\mathbb{P}^3$.
