We prove that for an endomorphism $f:\mathbf P^n_{\mathbb C}\to\mathbf P^n_{\mathbb C}$ of degree greater than one, any irreducible Zariski closed subset $V$ that is invariant under $f$ (i.e., $f^{-1}(V)=V$) must be a linear subspace. This result establishes a strong structural constraint on invariant sets under such dynamical systems. The proof relies on analyzing the behavior of the algebraic structure of invariant sets under iteration of the endomorphism.
All irreducible invariant algebraic sets under degree > 1 endomorphisms of $\mathbf P^n$ are linear subspaces.
Let $f:\mathbf P^n_{\mathbb C}\to\mathbf P^n_{\mathbb C}$ be an endomorphism of degree greater than one. We prove that every irreducible Zariski closed subset $V$ with $f^{-1}(V)=V$ is a linear subspace.
