We introduce a combinatorial criterion to identify roots of Bernstein-Sato polynomials for ideals, specifically focusing on determinantal and Pfaffian ideals. This criterion is derived from analyzing the structure of the corresponding geometric objects. As a key application, we leverage this criterion to prove the strong monodromy conjecture for these important classes of ideals.
Determinantal and Pfaffian ideals now have their strong monodromy conjecture proven via a novel combinatorial criterion for Bernstein-Sato polynomial roots.
We give a combinatorial criterion for detecting roots of Bernstein-Sato polynomials of ideals. As applications, we prove the strong monodromy conjecture for determinantal and Pfaffian ideals.
