We derive the half-space Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation as a continuum limit from a general class of Ginzburg-Landau stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) under weak nonlinearity scaling. This work establishes the first half-space universality result for the KPZ equation outside of integrable models and their perturbations. The derivation leverages techniques for analyzing nonlinear SPDEs in confined domains.
KPZ universality is now proven for a broad class of nonlinear SPDEs in half-space, extending beyond integrable systems.
We derive the half-space KPZ equation as a continuum limit from a general class of Ginzburg-Landau SPDEs under weak nonlinearity scaling. To our knowledge, this is the first half-space universality result for the KPZ equation beyond integrable models (and their perturbations).
