This work introduces an in-trajectory probing framework to study intermediate answer states in agentic RAG, and forms two prediction tasks, partial answer quality prediction and partial utility prediction, and studies trajectory-derived signals from intra-iteration, inter-iteration, and query-iteration perspectives.
