We investigate a tachyon-inspired inflationary model with a non-canonical kinetic structure and study its implications for primordial curvature perturbations, primordial black hole (PBH) formation, and induced gravitational waves. The inflationary dynamics is generated by a Starobinsky-like potential containing localized Gaussian features, which produce temporary departures from the standard slow-roll regime. By numerically solving the Mukhanov-Sasaki equation, we show that these transient features can generate localized enhancements in the primordial scalar power spectrum on small scales while remaining compatible with current CMB constraints on large scales. We analyze the predictions of the model in the (n s , r) plane and compare them with recent observational bounds from Planck, ACT, BK18, BAO, and DESI datasets. The enhanced scalar perturbations lead to the formation of PBHs over a broad range of masses, including scenarios with phenomenologically relevant abundances. We also compute the associated stochastic background of induced gravitational waves and compare the predicted signals with the sensitivity ranges of current and future gravitational-wave observatories.
